Share the Warmth and Honour Our Firefighters

By: Heather @ 10:40 pm

At Westmount Moving and Warehousing, we believe in giving back to the community and value the action as something that is extremely important, especially in this day and age. We are proud to sponsor the Children’s Wish Foundation, Partageons L’Espoir (Share the warmth), West Island Community Shares, the Ottawa Soccer Club and Clarky’s kids. We also give our support to the Montreal Children’s hospital and other organizations. Aside from our efforts, we like to promote the efforts of others to better their community and raise awareness.

Today, Friday, September 6th, Ottawa firefighters gathered to honour and remember their friends who have died in the line of duty. They started at 11:30 am and marched from the Canadian Museum of Nature all the way to the Ottawa City Hall. At noon, the memorial was held at the Ottawa Fire Fighters Monument. Memorial events will continue into the weekend as firefights and their families from across Canada gather for separate memorials. The gathering will lead to the National Firefighters Monument at LeBreton Flats. Even if you do not personally know a firefighter, we believe that we should all stop and recognize the enormous sacrifice that these men and women make every day and honour them the best way we can.
