Ottawa Celebrity Sports Dinner

By: Heather @ 2:31 pm

We might be a moving and warehousing company, but we also LOVE our sports. Whether it is moving teams (Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators and the Kitchener Rangers), sponsoring them (Ottawa Soccer Club, Team Canada in the 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship) or even participating in major sporting events ourselves (Westmount Moving Hockey Team VS the Mighty Yuks, benefiting the Montreal Children’s hospital, Tour de Force, Tinman Triathlon, as well as various golf tournaments) we love sports and everything surrounding them. While Westmount Moving and Warehousing has three main offices; Montreal, Ottawa and Kitchener-Waterloo, the company first grew out of Montreal.

As Joe Gagnon, our president said in an interview last spring, “Montreal is a sport town.” This love for sports has carried itself throughout all three offices during our companies growth and with that, our love for sharing sport related news! How about the 16th Annual Ottawa Celebrity Sports Dinner? If you haven’t heard of this event before, on Monday, October 21st 2013 at the Ottawa Conference and Event center, the MLB’s all-time hits leader, the former player for the Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies and the former manager of the Montreal Expos and Reds: Pete Rose, will be the guest of honour at this fabulous event:

“Rose has won three World Series Rings, three batting titles, one Most Valuable Player Award, two Gold Gloves, the Rookie of the Year Award and made 17 All-Star appearances at an unequalled five different positions.”

The Ottawa Celebrity Sports Dinner is organized each year to bring together elite members of Ottawa’s business community to raise money for local charities. This year, the Ottawa Celebrity Sports Dinner fundraiser is supporting the Soloway Jewish Community Centre as well as The Ottawa Food Bank.
